This Changes Everything: Capitalism Vs. The Climate

Social activist and writer, Naomi Klein, is doing it again in her provocative new book THIS CHANGES EVERYTHING – CAPITALISM VS. THE CLIMATE. She argues the most profound threat humanity has ever faced: the war our economic model is waging against life on earth.
The truth about climate change is not about carbon—it’s about capitalism. While there is almost certainty in the scientific world in climate change, and the epicentre of capitalism – Wall Street – all know climate change is real. All knowing of the medium and long term risks to their very survival and discussion on “stranded assets” and “carbon bubbles” and climate change are creating an atmosphere of “risky business”. Nevertheless, they still can’t resist the short term profits that flow from cooking the planet.
However, this is an opportunity to seize this existential crisis to transform our failed economic system and build something radically better.
“..politicians aren’t the only ones with the power to declare a crisis. Mass movements of regular people can declare one too.

“To change everything, we need everyone,” goes one of the slogans of the People’s Climate March on 21st September 2014. While solutions may be varied and numerous, all movements will need to unite in the climate fight. Every individual will need to show how how profoundly the climate movement has changed since the days of elite summit hopping and the inside-game of beltway cap-and-trade fights. To win, leadership and direct activism will be vital to change the current economic model which is not longer aligned to our values and beliefs.

This Changes Every Thing will be available from September 16 2014.
